DiskFit can back up to floppy disks, DTC-2000 tape drives such as those from SuperMac and Apple, Bernoulli cartridges, Kodak DTC cartridges, another hard disk, or any combination of these. For simplicy, all of them are referred to as disks.
The set of disks that make up a DiskFit backup is called a SmartSet. The first time you back up, DiskFit will ask you what to name the SmartSet and which files you want to back up: a single file, all applications and system files, or all document files. To back up the entire contents of the drive, specify that both applications/system files and document files are to be backed up. The first time you back up, it may take 30-60 minutes, since every file on your drive is being copied. Subsequent backups take much less time, since only files that have changes since the last backup need to be copied.
If a folderΓÇÖs name begins and ends with [square brackets], DiskFit will not back it up. This lets you exclude individual folders from the backup.
